leading agricultural power (cattle, one of foremost
producers in the world), sheep (the biggest herd in
the world), sugar cane...)
Wheat is grown, as well as vines, fruit, sugar
cane, barley (farmed land : 6%). Australia also
produces its own wine.

The agricultural
production cannot be diversified as the climatic
conditions are not favorable for other crops.
Agriculture is highly mechanized, 5.6% of the total
working population are in agriculture, and this
sector contributes 4% to the Gross National
Product. In France 35% of the territory is farmed
compared to 6% in Australia.
