Prince Edward Island (134,000 inhabitants)
The capital of this island is Charlottetown (45,000 inhabitants). The economic activity depends on potato growing, lobster fishing, tourism and light industry (food processing). It is known for the colour of its soil which is ferrous and a bright red colour.

It was the first Canadian province and birth place of the Canadian federation in 1864. It was where the first conference on Canadian unification was held..

Having the densest population in the country, Charlottetown is a magnificent town with houses of varying colours, churches in black and white wood, shopping streets. The island has 800 kms of beach and receives 700,000 tourists annually.

The airport is near the centre of town. Air Canada has a flight each day to Toronto (a 7 hour flight). There is a 5-hour time difference with France. The island has a temperate climate with warm summers and mild winters.

There are job possibilities in the sectors of tourism, with the developement and a permanent connection of 13 kms with the mainland, and in the sectors of aerospace, and with the new tax exemptions on potato growing, lobster fishing and light industry.
