To enter Sweden you
only need a valid identity card or passport if you
are not staying longer than 3 months.
If you are staying longer
than 3 months you need to get a resident's permit.
In order to qualify for one you have to have a work
contract or be able to prove that you can
financially provide for yourself and have enough
money to get home eventually.
Students have to prove that
they are enrolled in school or university. They
also have to prove adequate financial means and
have a health insurance.
Social Security Systems
:
For temporary residents,
workers can stay on their national social security
regime.
Before you leave you must get
an E111 form (from your social security centre)
which will give you the right to free (or
reimbursed) medical care in Sweden.
If you are staying on a
permanent basis you will have to apply to get onto
the Swedish regime.
Customs :
Domestic animals are accepted
in the country, but the quarantine period lasts 4
months. It is therefore not a good idea to take
your animals with you if you are going for a short
stay.
